Visual Artists collaborations

Kari connects with other artists around the globe who are interested in donating their talents to help support the ongoing care and conservation efforts of the sanctuary. Based off her Polaroid portraits of the kids, the artist chooses the alpaca they resonate with and reimagine it in their distinctive style. Kari then uses the artwork for alpaca themed merchandise, offering admirers another way to give back to the herd and celebrate their love for these majestic creatures. Please give a big thank you to the artists who are participating in this collaboration with a follow on instagram or visit to their site.

“I will always be an evolving artist and human being. The most important thing to me and my family and those I want to surround myself with on this fast moving journey we call life is equality for all people and animals.  I love supporting others in their pursuit of helping animals so when Kari asked me to collaborate, the answer was a no brainer. I picked Anise because I always look for those animals that have a ‘disability’ or a reason why they are not first picks,  if we were picking teams. Currently, my main focus is using my art to bring awareness to animal rights and the horrors of farming for the meat and dairy industry. 100% of the proceeds will be given to PETA.”

“I was thrilled to collaborate with an alpaca sanctuary! I’ve always embraced being different and my approach to weaving is no exception. While many prefer to blend alpaca with other fibers, I absolutely love working with 100% pure alpaca, celebrating its natural beauty. What I enjoy most is the versatility—it can be used in so many different textiles. Working with Kari has been a joy because she encourages artists, like me, to explore their creativity to the fullest.”

“As a fiber artist, I really enjoy working with all the different types of yarns and mediums available in this wonderful world. One of my favorites being natural fibers such as Kari’s alpaca yarn. There is something remarkable and grounding about using it to create unique works of art. Softly slipping through my fingers, it transports me back in time where I feel this connection with all my ancestors who crocheted or knitted. It’s magical.

I first worked with Kari about 10 years ago to crochet a few similar bunnies, from my pattern design, when she was first getting her feet wet in the fiber world. I am so honored she reached out to me again to now be a part of her collaboration adventure! Helping to support the alpaca sanctuary and getting to work with the lovely yarn again is a dream come true.”
